The Ten Virgins

Sunday Feb 02, 2014

Sunday Feb 02, 2014

Pastor Adekoye SanniTitle: Ten Virgins (Matthew 25:1-13)

There are two categories of people - the LIVING and those that are JUST BREATHING. The LIVING take conscious steps towards fulfilling their destiny. Whereas the JUST BREATHING just roll with the tide of things that come their way - their favorite quote is "Que Sera, Sera". It is very possible to be a Christian and still be foolish. Pastor Koye, in this inspiring message, pointed out the following from our text - Matthew 25:1-13
1. They were all virgins (Christians)
2. All 10 were waiting for the bridegroom (waiting for Christ second coming)
3. They all started to slumber (we all have fallen short in some way)
4. The bridegroom caught them all by surprise (nobody knows the time or hour when The Lord will return)
5. All of them aroseWhat are the things that characterize the Wise and Foolish Virgin? Are you a wise christian or a foolish christian? It is my prayer that as you listen, that you will be challenged in your christian walk.

Fighting Your Fears

Sunday Oct 27, 2013

Sunday Oct 27, 2013

Pastor Adekoye Sanni
Fear is an emotion that is produced by perceived thoughts. The 3 things that cause us to fear are - we think God cannot help us, this thing will shame me, and this thing will kill me. But we should ultimately be careful of what we fear. There are 2 types of fears: beneficial fear and destructive fear.
Destructive Fear:
1. Torments you
2. Paralyzes you, Restrict/limits you
Beneficial Fear "Fear of God":
1. Evil will depart from us. Proverbs 16:6
2. Beginning of Wisdom. Psalm 111:10, Proverbs 1:7
3. Obedience to God Almighty. Deuteronomy 17:19
4. Riches and Honor Proverbs 22:4
We shouldn't fear situations or people because the fear will not solve the problem. Our knowledge of God must increase for our fear in people or situations to decrease. Live in the fear of God rather than the fear of man, the fear of man will only lead to destruction while the fear of God will lead to prosperity.Pastor Adekoye Sanni

Run and Not Tired

Sunday Oct 06, 2013

Dr Bode Olalowo
Isaiah 40:28-31 says,
"Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the
earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable.
29 He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he
increases strength. 30 Even youths shall faint and be weary,
and young men shall fall exhausted, 31 but they who wait for
the Lord shall renew their
strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and
not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. (esv)
Everyday people are
giving up in one way or the other. They are giving up on their dreams, their
marriages, their faith, and even themselves. Why? They lacked strength. No
matter what, we can not make it by our own strength and might. We need the
strength of The Lord, God, Almighty to make it through. 1 Corinthians 9:24
says, "Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one
receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it." Be motivated by a
purpose, passion, mission, or goal. and remember that your destination is
Heaven.

Who Am I?

Sunday Oct 06, 2013

Sunday Oct 06, 2013

Pastor Adekoye Sanni
Who am I? Who are
you? Who are we? We are ambassadors for Christ. We are here to represent God on
earth. In order to not fall by the way side or fall into temptation; it is
important for us to know who we are. What is our identity and what do we
represent.

1.) I am a new
creature, one that never existed. 2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore, if
anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the
new has come." (english standard version)
2.) I am the
righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. 2 Coritnhians 5:21, "For our sake he
made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the
righteousness of God" (esv)
3.) I am
potentionally a child of God. John 1:12, "But to all who did receive him,
who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God"
(esv)
4.) I am chosen and
set apart. 1 Peter 2:9, "But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a
holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the
excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous
light." (esv)
5.)
My citizenship is in Heaven. Phillipians 3:20-21, "But our
citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,
21 who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious
body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to
himself." (esv)

Anatomy of Temptation

Sunday Sep 08, 2013

Sunday Sep 08, 2013

Pastor Adekoye SanniGenesis 3:1-10The most expensive meal in the history of man-kind is the apple that
Adam and Eve ate from the forbidden tree. All of humanity is still paying for the
cost of it today. Some have argued - why did God place the tree in the midst of the garden in the first place? Pastor 'Koye explained this in the 2nd part of this topic and many other questions such as - what does yielding to temptation do to a believer? How does temptation overtake a man (James 1:14-15)? What role does your thought pattern play in allowing temptation to overtake you? Be blessed as you listen!

What is Temptation?

Sunday Sep 01, 2013

Sunday Sep 01, 2013

Pastor Adekoye SanniMatthew 4:1-11What is temptation? Who is the tempter? Is temptation a sin? Why do I have to face temptation? How can I overcome temptation? These and many other questions on temptation are addressed in this message series. At the heart of temptation is an identity crisis. The devil is trying to prove God wrong in your life.
God allows the temptations because He has given you the ability to overcome them.

Pastor Adekoye SanniMatthew 13:33 - Another parable spake he
unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman
took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened. In this message, Pastor Koye challenged the church on what part we need to play in spreading real gospel in our world today - true joy is found in sharing the goodness of God with others, spreading the 'leaven' of the word of God. Also, we are to beware of the leaven of hypocrisy and malice. As individuals, we need to be ourselves and not allow the enemy to hide his devices in our lives by being hypocritical about what we have done - as soon as you are able to 'tell on yourself' you have broken the power the sin had on you and you will be able to move forward and the grace of God will be made available to you. But as long as you are pretending and hiding behind one finger, the enemy will continue to overpower you.Always remember - no matter how many times you fall down, pick yourself up and keep going...until you commit to keep going, you will always entertain the option of quitting after a failure.
