The Ten Virgins

Pastor Adekoye Sanni

Title: Ten Virgins (Matthew 25:1-13)

There are two categories of people - the LIVING and those that are JUST BREATHING. The LIVING take conscious steps towards fulfilling their destiny. Whereas the JUST BREATHING just roll with the tide of things that come their way - their favorite quote is "Que Sera, Sera". It is very possible to be a Christian and still be foolish. Pastor Koye, in this inspiring message, pointed out the following from our text - Matthew 25:1-13
1. They were all virgins (Christians)
2. All 10 were waiting for the bridegroom (waiting for Christ second coming)
3. They all started to slumber (we all have fallen short in some way)
4. The bridegroom caught them all by surprise (nobody knows the time or hour when The Lord will return)

5. All of them arose

What are the things that characterize the Wise and Foolish Virgin? Are you a wise christian or a foolish christian? It is my prayer that as you listen, that you will be challenged in your christian walk.

Fighting Your Fears

Pastor Adekoye Sanni
Fear is an emotion that is produced by perceived thoughts. The 3 things that cause us to fear are - we think God cannot help us, this thing will shame me, and this thing will kill me. But we should ultimately be careful of what we fear. There are 2 types of fears: beneficial fear and destructive fear.

Destructive Fear:
1. Torments you
2. Paralyzes you, Restrict/limits you

Beneficial Fear "Fear of God":
1. Evil will depart from us. Proverbs 16:6
2. Beginning of Wisdom. Psalm 111:10, Proverbs 1:7
3. Obedience to God Almighty. Deuteronomy 17:19
4. Riches and Honor Proverbs 22:4

We shouldn't fear situations or people because the fear will not solve the problem. Our knowledge of God must increase for our fear in people or situations to decrease. Live in the fear of God rather than the fear of man, the fear of man will only lead to destruction while the fear of God will lead to prosperity.Pastor Adekoye Sanni

Run and Not Tired

Dr Bode Olalowo

Isaiah 40:28-31 says, "Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. 29 He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. 30 Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted, 31 but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. (esv)

Everyday people are giving up in one way or the other. They are giving up on their dreams, their marriages, their faith, and even themselves. Why? They lacked strength. No matter what, we can not make it by our own strength and might. We need the strength of The Lord, God, Almighty to make it through. 1 Corinthians 9:24 says, "Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it." Be motivated by a purpose, passion, mission, or goal. and remember that your destination is Heaven.

Who Am I?

Pastor Adekoye Sanni

Who am I? Who are you? Who are we? We are ambassadors for Christ. We are here to represent God on earth. In order to not fall by the way side or fall into temptation; it is important for us to know who we are. What is our identity and what do we represent.

1.) I am a new creature, one that never existed. 2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." (english standard version)

2.) I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. 2 Coritnhians 5:21, "For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God" (esv)

3.) I am potentionally a child of God. John 1:12, "But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God" (esv)

4.) I am chosen and set apart. 1 Peter 2:9, "But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light." (esv)

5.) My citizenship is in Heaven. Phillipians 3:20-21, "But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself." (esv)

Anatomy of Temptation

Pastor Adekoye Sanni

Genesis 3:1-10
The most expensive meal in the history of man-kind is the apple that Adam and Eve ate from the forbidden tree. All of humanity is still paying for the cost of it today. Some have argued - why did God place the tree in the midst of the garden in the first place? Pastor 'Koye explained this in the 2nd part of this topic and many other questions such as - what does yielding to temptation do to a believer? How does temptation overtake a man (James 1:14-15)? What role does your thought pattern play in allowing temptation to overtake you? Be blessed as you listen!

What is Temptation?

Pastor Adekoye Sanni

Matthew 4:1-11
What is temptation? Who is the tempter? Is temptation a sin? Why do I have to face temptation? How can I overcome temptation? These and many other questions on temptation are addressed in this message series. At the heart of temptation is an identity crisis. The devil is trying to prove God wrong in your life. God allows the temptations because He has given you the ability to overcome them.

Parables of the Kingdom Series - The Parable of the Leaven

Pastor Adekoye Sanni

Matthew 13:33 - Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven is like unto leaven, which a woman took, and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.

In this message, Pastor Koye challenged the church on what part we need to play in spreading real gospel in our world today - true joy is found in sharing the goodness of God with others, spreading the 'leaven' of the word of God. Also, we are to beware of the leaven of hypocrisy and malice. As individuals, we need to be ourselves and not allow the enemy to hide his devices in our lives by being hypocritical about what we have done - as soon as you are able to 'tell on yourself' you have broken the power the sin had on you and you will be able to move forward and the grace of God will be made available to you. But as long as you are pretending and hiding behind one finger, the enemy will continue to overpower you.

Always remember - no matter how many times you fall down, pick yourself up and keep going...until you commit to keep going, you will always entertain the option of quitting after a failure.

Power of a Seed

Pastor Adekoye Sanni

A lot of people look at themselves on the surface, when you look at those 6,000 years old seeds on the counter of an Egyptian museum, you’ll say there’s nothing to these – the seeds are too old, too dry, they cannot become anything, but know that you are not a failed product. Inside of you is everything you need to become what God has created you to be. Some people today, unfortunately, are like those seeds on display in that museum – all preserved and just for display, not producing, not germinating, not fruitful, until it was planted and all its potentials germinated, age not withstanding – so know that from today going forward, a change has come to your life, every potential that is dormant inside of you, the Lord will provide the right atmosphere for that seed to germinate in the mighty name of Jesus!

In this life transforming message, Pastor Koye shared 4 D's of the lessons to learn in the parable of the wheat and the tares. Be blessed as you listen.

Parables of the Kingdom of Heaven Series - The Parable of the Sower

Pastor Adekoye Sanni

Mathew 13: 1-9; 18-23 - The Parable of the Sower

Jesus was asked why He spoke in parables to the people - His answers? 1. Reveal the truth of the kingdom to the righteous and 2. conceal the truth from the unrighteous. The mystery of the truth is not hidden from you as a believer but rather hidden for you - the Holy Spirit gives us understanding of the word of God as we read and study it. What are you doing with your seeds? That talent, that gift – what are you doing with it?

Matthew 13 - Parables of the Kingdom of Heaven Series

As an introduction to the parable of the kingdom of heaven series, we can establish from the scriptures that the kingdom of heaven is one and the same as the kingdom of God (Refs. - Mathew 4:17, Mark 1:15, Mathew 5:3,10; Luke 6:20, 22). The phrase 'kingdom of heaven' appears 33 times in the new testament and every single occurrence is in the gospel of St Mathew. Kingdom of God appears 5 time. Matthew 1-12 gives a panoramic view of the life Jesus - Jesus is not just a prophet, a good teacher that lived once upon a time, but that Jesus is the Messiah, our soon coming King.

Vision For Life - 2

Pastor Adekoye Sanni

Psalm 33:15 - 'He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works.'

God did not create you from a 'mold'. He fashioned you uniquely for a purpose. Anyone that do not understand their purpose will settle for less - (Gen.45:7 - And God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance).

  • How do I know my purpose?
  • Why do I need vision?
  • What do I do with my vision?

These questions you will find answered in this empowering message. Be blessed as you listen and take steps to fulfill your God-giving vision in Jesus' name!

Vision For Life

Pastor Adekoye Sanni

Proverbs 29:18 (KJV) - Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

Proverbs 29:18 (NLT) - When people do not accept divine guidance, they run wild. But whoever obeys the law is joyful.

A quote reads - 'Eyes that look are common, but eyes that see are rare'. Vision therefore can be defined for our purpose as the eyes of one's destiny - vision gives direction to destiny. It is the ability to see things before they come to physical manifestation.

Potentials would never be fully realized if it is not directed in the path of purpose. Pastor 'Koye in this life-changing sermon further elaborated - Purpose answers the question why am I here? When you are able to visualize the path to why you are here then how to get there gets clearer even in the face of difficulties. Be blessed as you listen in Jesus' name!

The word Divine is defined as, from God. Meaning, divine assistance can only come from God and no one else. When God assists you that means He is with you. We will obtain grace and favor in every area of our lives. Acts 10:38 tells us, “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him.” What must we do to receive this Divine Assistance? I Hear Destiny Calling

Pastor Adekoye Sanni

Jeremiah 29:11

We all have a purpose on this earth. If destiny is calling it is never too late for you. For example, Dave Thomas, the founder of Wendy’s, opened his first Wendy’s at the age of 50. Therefore when it comes to your destiny age does not matter. The book of Psalm 44:21 says, “would not God have discovered it, since he knows the secrets of the hearts?” God knows all things. So we should ask ourselves, is this the best that I can do? Revelation 12:14 says, “The woman was given the two wings of a great eagle, so that she might fly to the place prepared for her in the desert, where she would be taken care of for a time, times and half a time, out of the serpent’s reach.” Friends, we are being reminded in this inspiring sermon that God wants us to reach our destiny and fulfill our purpose in this lifetime. Be blessed as you listen.
